Elmaclean 50 – Liquid Disinfection and Cleaning Concentrate (New!)
Replaces Elmaclean 55 – Available from June 2026 – Improved formula / higher concentrate
Are you looking for a powerful, reliable solution for cleaning and disinfecting medical and dental instruments? Discover Elmaclean 50. This high-quality liquid concentrate is specifically developed for non-protein-fixing cleaning and intensive disinfection, suitable for both immersion baths and ultrasonic cleaners.
Thanks to its advanced formula, Elmaclean 50 is VAH-certified and completely free of aldehydes, phenols, and QACs (quaternary ammonium compounds). This makes the product highly effective while remaining safer to use.
Key Benefits of Elmaclean 50:
-
Broad spectrum of activity: Effective against bacteria (including TBC) and yeasts. It also offers virucidal activity against enveloped viruses such as HBV, HCV, HIV, and influenza.
-
Ultrasonic-optimized: Significantly shortens contact times when combined with an ultrasonic bath (e.g., tuberculocidal activity in just 5 minutes at 2%).
-
Non-protein-fixing: Prevents proteins from baking onto your instruments during cleaning, which is essential for a perfect preparation prior to sterilization.
-
Extended shelf life: Unused ready-to-use solution remains active for up to 30 days. When in intensive use, the prepared solution lasts up to 7 days.
Fields of Application
Elmaclean 50 is strictly intended for professional use by qualified medical personnel and is ideal for:
-
General medical and dental instruments: Diagnostic, surgical, and preserving instruments (such as extracting forceps, root elevators, mouth mirrors, and rigid endoscopes).
-
Dental rotary precision instruments: Steel, hard metal, and diamond burrs and cutters, crown cutters, root canal instruments, and rubber polishers.
Dosage and Activity (Contact Times)
Elmaclean 50 is highly economical. The standard recommended dosage is 0.5% (e.g., 5 ml concentrate to 995 ml water).
For shorter contact times or specific disinfection requirements, the concentration can be increased:
| Intended Activity | Concentration | Contact Time (Immersion Bath) | Contact Time (Ultrasonic Bath) | Condition |
| Bactericidal (EN 13727) | 0.5 % | 5 minutes | – | Dirty |
| Yeasticidal (EN 13624) | 3.0 % | 5 minutes | – | Dirty |
| Virucidal (Enveloped viruses) | 1.0 % | – | 10 minutes | Clean |
| Tuberculocidal (EN 14563) | 2.0 % | 15 minutes | 5 minutes | Clean/Dirty |
